Seamus Hackett:
Fibrelay Utilities Ltd (formerly known as Fin Europe ltd) was formed by Seamus Hackett during 2009 primarily as a consultancy based service. Overtime this provided us with the opportunity to develop the business spectrum further into providing more network build and maintenance orientated services to the industry.
During 2012 a new board of Directors was appointed to bring both strength and vision to the future growth of the business. This strategy has enabled us to get a firm foothold back into the industry.
Seamus Hackett has worked alongside the majority of global operators that had a vested presence in the UK. Installing many of the conventional network infrastructures that are in place today.
He had the foresight to try and change the way city to city networks were built in the UK. By investing heavily in the development and subsequent acquisition of fibre blowing equipment, becoming the first contractor in the country to offer long haul trunk cable installations, significantly increasing the continuous distance of no break cable networks.
Some of the achievements that have been made in the last fifteen years include constructing fibre trunk networks across the whole of Great Britain, installing fibre along the PAN-EUROPEAN routes across France through to the German border and circumnavigating Scandinavia with a 2000 kilometre fibre installation, splice and test.
His experience provides direction to the company in the way that it is managed and controlled to enable sustainable growth which creates a solid financial platform from which to work from.
Mark Hopper:
Mark Hopper was brought in as Operations Director to oversee and manage our client's expectations when delivering new build projects. His wealth of experience in the logistical running of such contracts has given our customers the confidence in Fibrelay's ability to deliver a quality product on time and in budget. His understanding of Health and Safety requirements, method statements and risk assessments we need in order to meet today's legal criteria.
Alex Plummer:
Alex Plummer our Engineering Director having spent the last twenty years constructing many of the fibre networks that are currently in place across the breadth of the UK today has given us an edge when investigating client new builds. His intimate knowledge of operator routes has proven benefits Alex prefers to get involved in the daily installations at the front end, giving support and guidance to his team members. Alex has installed over a thousand kilometres of
networks for Fibrelay to date.
Fibrelay Utilities has created a management team which is moulded around the skills that each individual Director has bought to the company. Knowing each other's strengths we have used this to develop a pro-active company that provides excellent technical skills and service.
Fibrelay has recruited a highly skilled team of engineers, some of which have been known to us for a great number of years and highly respected in their own chosen field. This sits well with our current client base and gives them the confidence that we will exceed their expectations.
A great deal of investment has gone into ensuring that Fibrelay engineers have the latest fibre technology at their disposal. Equipment trends are closely monitored on a regular basis to keep pace with this technology led industry. Our fleet of new vehicles include vans which remain unmarked
and logo free. Each vehicle is fully fitted out to enable a clinical workshop environment in which the cables are spliced and tested.
